Summer Showers: Christabelle & Deion’s Rainy Wedding at The Revere
The Meet-Cute
In October 2020, Christabelle started physical therapy for a rotator cuff injury. Deion was assigned as her rehabilitation aide, so their initial interactions were strictly professional. Each week, Deion corrected her form, iced her shoulder, and counted her reps — and each week, Christabelle looked forward to her sessions as she got to know him better.
Eventually, Christabelle worked up the courage to ask for Deion’s number. Deion stepped away for a moment, then returned to quietly hand her a sticky note with a number written on it. Christabelle waited until after his shift ended to text him, only to receive a quick reply: “Wrong number.”
Her heart dropped so fast that she immediately opened her phone to search for a new physical therapy clinic. About 30 minutes later, a second message came through: “Just kidding.” They have been inseparable ever since, and that original sticky note now hangs framed in their home as a constant reminder of how their story began.
The Venue & Vibe
“Since our love is everlasting, we wanted our wedding to be timeless,” Christabelle shared.
Wanting a day that felt both modern and classic, they chose The Revere in Dawsonville, Georgia. The couple fell in love with the property’s sleek, elevated architecture, which felt effortlessly elegant while still embracing the surrounding natural beauty. Having full access to the venue for the entire weekend turned the event into an immersive retreat for not only the couple, but also their far-flung families, the wedding party and their dogs.
The Georgia Downpour
The weekend began with clear skies. On the morning of the ceremony, the weather seemed ideal — sunny, with just enough cloud cover to offer shade and a slight breeze. But just as Christabelle stepped onto the aisle, a single rain cloud rolled directly overhead and the skies opened up.
Taking the plot twist in stride, the bride embraced the sudden weather: “The only thing more magical than getting married on a sunny summer day in Georgia was kissing in the rain.”
Almost as quickly as it started, the downpour stopped the moment their recessional began, giving way to a full rainbow just in time for cocktail hour. “It was truly epic,” Christabelle added. “We’ll never forget our incredible guests who sat through the rain with us, embracing the moment and making it one of the most romantic memories of our lives.”
