Skyler & Reid’s Vibrant Garden Party

When explaining their vision to each of their wedding vendors, Skyler and Reid painted an image of a tea garden party-turned-wedding. “I wanted the wedding to feel like an event all of our friends and family could come to and say, ‘This is definitely Skyler and Reid’s wedding,’” the bride shares.

Skyler’s passions lie in sewing, crochet, cross stitch and basically anything crafty, meaning her skills were put to use to personalize their wedding. Such handmade details included crocheted table decor, food pun laser-cut signs and the bride’s crocheted parasol.

Regarding Skyler’s ensemble, the bride stunned in a lilac gown with a hand- stitched cape (created by Skyler’s sewing teacher). Skyler made the daring choice to ship off her gown to its designer in New York to have it dyed a purple hue. And the risk paid off! Completing her look, hairstylist Anna Thompson nailed a Pride and Prejudice-inspired updo while makeup artist Courtney Musick achieved old-Hollywood vibes and a bright red lip.

Not everyone is comfortable busting a move in the daylight, so Skyler and Reid wanted their guests to have other forms of entertainment during the afternoon celebrations. Such bonus activities were a Robot Booth photo booth, lawn games, musical entertainment from James Patrick Morgan and, most notably, a bouncy slide and inflatable axe throwing. Because … why not?

The Butterfly Pavilion’s airy, lush and gorgeously green venue perfectly set the scene for this whimsical garden party atmosphere. Beneath a leafy canopy, the sun shone upon these vibrant newlyweds. As friends and family took part in a tea toast send off, Skyler and Reid knew they achieved a truly memorable celebration of love.
