Kathryn & Scott’s Heirloom Filled Little River Farms Wedding
More than just a day to say “I do,” Kathryn and Scott’s wedding was a heartfelt tribute to their cultures, families, and shared history. Every detail of their celebration at Little River Farms was intentionally crafted to reflect their Taiwanese and Southern American roots, making for an unforgettable event.
Kathryn and Scott’s trip to the altar began with a proposal at the Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah. Their miniature dachshund, Ridley, played a starring role in the moment, acting as the ring bearer during Scott’s proposal. Ridley’s presence continued throughout their wedding day, too. His likeliness made adorable appearances in photos and decor, further highlighting the couple’s love for their pet.
Located in the rolling hills of North Georgia, Little River Farms was the perfect backdrop for Kathryn and Scott’s big day. The couple instantly felt at home in the venue’s welcoming atmosphere, knowing it was the perfect place to bring loved ones together. With 130 guests in attendance, they exchanged vows outdoors, surrounded by nature’s beauty.
From the decor to the attire, Kathryn and Scott carefully incorporated meaningful traditions into their wedding. Drawing inspiration from family heirlooms, blue and white chinoiserie vases influenced the day’s details. The couple incorporated this motif into the floral arrangements and bridesmaids’ dresses, seamlessly blending heritage with elegance. One cherished piece of the celebration was the silk-screened seating chart, a family heirloom belonging to Kathryn’s father. It served as both a practical element of the day and a sentimental nod to the family’s legacy.
Another touching moment came when Kathryn surprised her Ah-Ma (grandmother) by wearing a red qipao dress that had been passed down through generations. The dress, originally worn by her Ah-Ma on her own wedding day, featured an exquisite hand-beaded phoenix and dragon design, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune in marriage.
With thoughtful tributes to both of their cultures and families, Kathryn and Scott’s wedding at Little River Farms was a beautiful reflection of their love story. By blending heirlooms, traditions, and personal touches, they created a true celebration of the past, present, and future.
