Joi & Christopher’s Stanley House Enchantment
Joi and Christopher met in 2010 while in college at Tuskegee University. A friendship evolved into a romantic relationship and the couple moved to Las Vegas together after graduating. After becoming engaged in 2020, the couple realized that the best place to be was closest to the people they loved most. So they moved back to Atlanta to be near family and the wedding planning began!
So on a beautiful September day just blocks from the square of historic Marietta, the couple celebrated their union. The weekend festivities took place at the charming Stanley House Mansion, a historic 1895 bed and breakfast and event venue. The inn’s historic furnishings, intricate woodwork and southern elegance set the scene for the wedding atmosphere.
As the ultimate convenience, the couple’s family arrived and spent the night at the inn the night prior. One the morning of the wedding, they all enjoyed a gourmet breakfast while the bride’s hair and makeup artists worked their magic highlighting her already beautiful spirit. Having everyone together in one spot added another layer of closeness and intimacy to the day.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the courtyard while the couple snuck away for portraits, as they did not opt for a “first look” before the ceremony. Joi and Christopher were received by the guests as they descended the Stanley House grand hall staircase into the ballroom. Then, dinner and dancing ensued!
This wedding set Christopher and Joi up for a beautiful start to their married life. They’re forever grateful to “Mother Tuskegee” for introducing them over a decade ago, an occurrence that set in motion a lifetime of love together.
