Alina & Kévin’s French, Indian and Lebanese Fusion Wedding at Barnsley Resort
In a pastel-hued fusion of French, Indian and Lebanese cultures, Alina and Kévin hosted a Barnsley Resort wedding with guest experience at its heart.
The couple met while working at a software development company in Paris, though neither was looking for anything serious. Alina didn’t want to get involved with a colleague, and Kévin was too busy juggling side gigs to make any commitments. But after two years of casual, under wraps dating, Kévin finally made it official by proposing on a morning walk by the Château du Chambord.
Their wedding week unfolded across several days of celebrations, culminating in a Saturday ceremony and Barnsley Resort reception that prioritized leaving guests surprised at every turn. Haikuists typed personalized poems live. A favor market cart overflowed with goods sourced directly from Lebanon. Professional portraits were printed on the spot and slipped into keepsake sleeves designed to match the wedding’s stationery and decor. Guests found their seats by locating a keepsake tambourine, which they’d later use to join the high-energy Zaffah band.
All signage appeared in both French and English, menus were translated to reflect each guest’s primary language and French-language speech translations waited at place settings. A palette of lavender and sage filled the space, carried through in custom signage and monogram motifs by Hi Note. From the invitations that previewed the experience before guests arrived to the mini cakes passed family-style at evening’s end, no guest-oriented detail was an afterthought.
