A Joyful and Warm SCAD – Ivy Hall Wedding for Kate & LJ
Anyone who’s met Kate and LJ knows they embody love, intentionality and warmth. It only made sense that their wedding beautifully reflected those qualities. From the meaningful touches to the relaxed ambiance of SCAD – Ivy Hall, every detail created an atmosphere that was intimate, heartfelt and joyful.
This sense of connection was woven into every moment, beginning with Kate’s wedding dress — a tribute to her family’s legacy. Rather than choosing a new gown, Kate transformed her mother’s wedding dress, blending tradition with her own modern style. The dress, carefully reimagined with lace and materials from her mother’s original gown, sweetly symbolized the bond between past and present.
Set in the lush gardens of SCAD – Ivy Hall, the ceremony began against the melodic sounds of live violin and guitar. LJ’s reaction when he saw Kate walking down the aisle was unforgettable, and their close friend Ben, who officiated, crafted a ceremony that truly reflected the couple’s journey together.
The reception, designed with warmth and comfort in mind, featured a family-style dinner where guests gathered at round tables, sharing a delicious meal and lively conversation. Adding a personal touch, Kate and LJ shared their first dance to an acoustic rendition of Bernhoft’s “Stay with Me,” performed by friend of the groom, Andrew DeMuro. As the evening wound down, guests sent the couple off with a glowing exit lit by phone flashlights, a modern twist on the classic sparkler send-off.
In every way, their wedding day was intimate and warm, an experience that mirrored Kate and LJ’s love for each other and the people closest to them.
