Thunder and a Rainbow for Madison & Mickey at Meadows at Mossy Creek
Madison and Mickey’s love story began with a red dress. In May 2022, both were out with friends at a sports bar near Truist Park when Mickey, who worked for the Braves at the time, tapped Madison on the shoulder. He had an entire opening line planned in his head, but when she turned around, it vanished. “I really like your dress” was all he could manage, and it worked.
After months of exploring Atlanta, road-tripping, working out together and meeting each other’s favorite people, they officially began dating in September 2022. Their first trip together, to Rosemary Beach, Florida, revealed how much they had in common, from their shared faith and love of fitness to the city, the beach, the mountains and even their favorite songs. Two years later, in September 2024, Mickey proposed on a downtown Atlanta helipad with the skyline behind them. Atlanta had brought them together, so it felt like the right place to ask.
The month of September had a way of showing up in their story. Madison had declared it her wedding month as a pre-teen, and it turned out to be the month they started dating, the month Mickey proposed and the month they married. Both grew up in the Atlanta area, Madison in Roswell and Mickey in Marietta, but they wanted to marry a little farther from home. When they toured Meadows at Mossy Creek in the North Georgia foothills, it felt right. They wanted a place that was cozy and familiar, with a classic, elegant feel, and they could picture their family and friends gathered around them there. The view from the altar and the large, airy bridal suite were welcome extras. Guests also stayed in the onsite cottages behind the venue, which turned the wedding into a long weekend for everyone.
The day itself seemed to come straight from a film. Thunder rolled through the mountains and a rainbow stretched across the sky as Madison and Mickey exchanged vows with the foothills behind them. Madison wore a gown with a detachable train, and florals filled both the ceremony and reception with several show-stopping installations. Personal touches included an “M&M” seating chart installation and a vintage cake topper.
Faith has been at the center of their relationship, and they hope their marriage honors God and reflects Him. With a rainbow overhead on their wedding day, it was hard to miss the sign.
