Karlee and Grayson’s Natural and Timeless Wedding
Karlee and Grayson hosted a natural yet elegant fall wedding at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, GA. Located about an hour north of Atlanta, Barnsley Resort is home to over 3,000 acres of charm and southern history. Inspired by the natural beauty of the venue, the rest of their wedding inspiration came from how to highlight that.
A theme of nature and greenery ran throughout the festivities, after all, the couple did get engaged at the top of a mountain in Indian Peaks Wilderness, Colorado. One special touch came with the table names. Instead of numbering the tables, the couple named each table after a mountain/mountain range. Lovers of hiking, these table names reflected mountains they had hiked or hope to hike someday.
The couple exchanged their vows against the rustic and natural backdrop of the venue’s iconic 19th century Manor House Ruins. Declining a “first look” photo op, the couple wanted their first look at each other to be down the aisle. Instead, Karlee walked towards her soon-to-be-husband to the song “Oceans” by Hillsong United and both of them couldn’t stop grinning.
After the emotional vows, their reception took place in Barnsley Resort’s Georgian Hall. Opened in 2018, this part of the venue boasts vaulted ceilings with stunning exposed, wooden beams. The floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace surrounded by dormer windows and painted millwork truly created a timeless vision for a timeless love story.
As the night began to come to an end, the newlyweds treated their guests to Chick-fil-A sandwiches. Everyone had worked up a sweat on the dance floor and many of the guests were ready to re-fuel with this much beloved southern staple.
Before the night ended for good, guests were instructed to line out outside for the sparkler sendoff. This left Karlee and Grayson to have a moment to themselves. During this time, they performed one last dance together to Johnny Swim’s “Touching Heaven.” The bride said, “It was such a special, intimate moment when we just smiled, laughed and reminisced on the most perfect night.”
From the Planner, Chancey Charm
Karlee and Grayson are so kind and loving. Karlee has a smile that lights up a room. Given that it was a fall wedding and the bride and groom love the outdoors and nature, they really wanted to incorporate that warm feeling into the wedding.
The words that came to mind when planning it were: greenery, elegant, woods, whites and neutrals. They got engaged at the top of a mountain in Colorado and shared a love for God, tennis and, coincidentally, had gone to the same high school, but didn’t start dating until after college.
