Old World Inspired Wedding at Villa Woodbine in Miami, FL
After moving to Florida, Erica wasn’t sure that she would be able to fulfill her dream of getting married under a beautiful old tree (palm trees tend to stay pretty skinny!), but Villa Woodbine provided exactly what she and her fiancé, Julio, were looking for. The couple gathered in the cool of a March morning under the sprawling branches in the courtyard. The space, designed by Beauty in the Making, was decorated in blush and gold and accented with natural greenery and hanging vases. The guests turned in their antique garden chairs as Erica entered in a champagne pink mermaid gown, holding an untamed bouquet of Juliet garden roses, parrot tulips, anemones, and surrounding greenery designed by Divine Design Flowers. The man and wife pronounced and the ceremony ended, Erica and Julio released butterflies in memory of Erica’s grandmother before making their way to a mid-morning wedding brunch served by Bill Hansen Catering. The reception paid homage to the couple’s love of writing with framed poems and books open to passages of love. A jazz melody crooned by Lourdes Valentin hung in the air above the newlyweds’ first dance and washed an elegant atmosphere over the event. The bride and groom made their grand exit surrounded by a sea of white ribbons waved by guests and cruised off along the bay in a vintage rental car adorned with a eucalyptus garland dotted with tropical blooms also found in the bride’s bouquet. It was a wedding that would have done old Hollywood proud.
