Exquisite Elegance for Lauren & Jonathan at The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta
Planning a wedding while living on opposite sides of the world isn’t easy. Lauren was traveling internationally as a professional volleyball player, Jonathan was working with the NBA in Texas and their dream wedding was taking shape in Atlanta. Bringing in Gloria Schulz Events to orchestrate every detail, a stunning black-tie celebration at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta came together — all in under a year.
But their story began years earlier at Baylor University, where both were student-athletes. Between early morning practices and cheering each other on at games, a bond formed that would carry them through careers, continents and, now, down the aisle.
On their wedding day, Lauren and Jonathan chose to forego a first look, saving that moment for the ceremony. As Lauren walked down an aisle flanked by lush pastel blooms, Jonathan’s authentic, emotional reaction set the tone for the ceremony that followed. Officiated by Lauren’s childhood pastor and standing before a flower-adorned wooden cross, the ceremony was intimate and centered on their faith.
The reception’s champagne, gold, and soft pastel palette created an elegant and warm atmosphere. As the evening progressed, the energy in the ballroom soared when The Celebrity All Stars Band took the stage. Midway through the night, Lauren re-emerged in a white mini dress and personalized cowboy boots emblazoned with her new initials and wedding date — a touch honoring their Texan origin story.
From student-athletes to life partners, Lauren and Jonathan’s wedding beautifully honored both the distance they’ve traveled and the foundation that made it all possible.
