A Fusion of Faith & Heritage for Jedida & Isaac at Oakley on the Lake
Jedida and Isaac met through people close to them, building a partnership rooted in balance. Jedida, who works in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, brings a warm, expressive energy to the relationship. Isaac, a design engineer, offers a calm, dependable presence. When they aren’t managing home renovation projects or traveling, the two love relaxing with their Maltipoos and gathering with family.
On a crisp November day at Oakley on the Lake, Jedida and Isaac celebrated a wedding that was an elegant, faith-filled fusion of Togolese, Costa Rican, and American traditions. The quiet Lake Lanier setting provided a peaceful backdrop for the day, while the reception hall easily accommodated their 150 guests for a lively night of dinner and dancing.
During the ceremony, autumn sunlight filled the space as Jedida and Isaac exchanged vows and sang hymns in front of a rustic wooden cross. Their promises to love with grace, laugh often and choose each other daily underscored the central role of faith and prayer in their union.
The celebration then transitioned into a feast of culture and community. “One of the most meaningful parts of the day was watching our families, traditions, and cultural backgrounds come together in one beautiful place,” the couple said. “We wanted our guests to experience the warmth and energy of our cultures while enjoying an elegant and romantic celebration.”
After dinner speeches and their first dance, the newlyweds briefly slipped away for a quick outfit change. They reemerged in striking West African attire, Isaac wearing a royal purple agbada with a matching fila cap, and Jedida glowing in a pink gown with delicate lace and beading, topped with a purple gele.
The wardrobe shift reframed the rest of the night. Following the cake cutting, the couple moved to the center of the floor for a traditional money spraying, surrounded by guests showering them with cash to symbolize prosperity and love. The immersive moment left the room energized, offering a perfect example of how couples can honor deep-seated cultural roots within a modern wedding framework.
