A Wedding That Felt Like Home: Taylor & Kyle at The Whitlock Inn
Some of the most memorable weddings are built on intimacy and connection, and that was exactly the foundation of Taylor and Kyle’s celebration. Thoughtful and heartfelt, their day felt like an open invitation into the life they’ve been building together for years.
Taylor and Kyle’s love story started in 9th grade history class when Kyle turned around and asked Taylor if she had the answers to their Algebra homework. “We started dating freshman year of high school and have been inseparable ever since,” Taylor shared. “We are each other’s best friends and have the best time doing absolutely nothing with each other.” Self-proclaimed homebodies, their favorite date nights involve trying new recipes and building living room forts for movie or game nights. These simple joys would later inspire many of their wedding-day details.
When choosing a venue, The Whitlock Inn felt like a natural extension of who they are. The historic Marietta landmark immediately drew them in with its warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the wrap-around front porch to the parlor rooms illuminated by antique Parisian chandeliers, the space felt like inviting friends over for an elevated celebration at home.
Taylor and Kyle’s wedding day was filled with sweet, intentional touches that reflected their life together. The couple included their new puppy, Bennie, with a special “first look,” and offered tennis balls “from” him as favors. In lieu of a traditional guest book, friends and family signed playing cards — a nod to the couple’s love of gathering for game nights.
One of the most unique touches was a vending machine stocked with stickers featuring some of the couple’s favorite things. Guests could grab designs of Diet Coke, Harry Styles, golf, their pup Bennie or the Castle Hill Inn lighthouse (where they got engaged), creating a fun, arcade-like experience throughout the night.
Capturing the day through a personal lens, Taylor and Kyle placed disposable cameras in the hands of their closest friends. “You can really see the love in those images,” said their photographer, Bretagne Isler of Tags Photography. The result was an authentic collection of moments, mirroring the warmth that defined the day from start to finish.
