Star Wars & Spicy Margs: Elisabeth & Eric’s The Oakley on the Lake Wedding
Bringing together bold colors, spicy flavors and a subtle touch of “nerdy,” Elisabeth and Eric’s wedding was perfectly personalized. Held on May 4 at Oakley on the Lake in Gainesville, the couple embraced the significance of “May the Fourth” (in reference to the Star Wars catchphrase, “May the fourth be with you”) to craft a day that was as unique and festive.
Choosing their venue, Oakley on the Lake, was a bit of a leap of faith. When the couple discovered the venue’s booth at the Atlanta Wedding Extravaganza, the property was still under construction. But the owners’ vision resonated with the couple, and their gamble paid off. The finished space, with its clean, modern design, was the perfect canvas for their festive plans. Bright, vibrant florals by their florist transformed the space, complementing the day’s energy.
A Star Wars fan through and through, Eric was delighted by a surprise appearance from Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper on the dance floor. Guests eagerly joined the fun, snapping selfies and dancing alongside the iconic characters. To cap off the night, custom light sabers emblazoned with the couple’s names and wedding date lit the way for their dramatic exit, creating a moment to remember.
From signature spicy margaritas and Cuba libres to including their miniature dachshund, Manchego, in the ceremony, Elisabeth and Eric’s day felt distinctly theirs. Under the neon glow of lightsabers, the newlyweds exited their wedding day, filled with unforgettable memories of fun and personality.
