A Wedding Weekend Serenbe Getaway for Kayla & Brett
With horses, hiking and heritage, Kayla and Brett’s wedding at The Inn at Serenbe blended modern simplicity with vintage nostalgia. Their vision was clean, romantic and far from the rustic aesthetic often tied to farm weddings. Instead, they created a dreamy atmosphere, with every detail balancing the old and new.
The couple, who met through mutual friends, bonded instantly over their shared love of travel and adventure. In April 2023, Brett proposed at Painter’s Point in Big Sur, a remote location where the mountains meet the ocean, setting the tone for their nature-inspired wedding.
The Inn at Serenbe was the obvious venue for their celebration. Located on Atlanta’s edge, Serenbe is known for its sustainability practices, working organic farm and stunning surroundings. The couple’s commitment to the environment was reflected in their wedding, from the eco-friendly venue to the organic, locally sourced menu. Their 92 guests enjoyed a weekend of serenity, indulging in activities like horseback riding, hiking and exploring the charming community.
Family heritage was woven throughout the day, with details like vintage wedding photos of grandparents, Kayla’s magnolia earrings honoring her step-grandmother and Queen Anne’s Lace in memory of the bride’s grandmother, Gene Anne. As a third-generation horsewoman, Kayla incorporated horses into the celebration, starting the day with a ride alongside her soon-to-be husband.
In every way, Kayla and Brett’s wedding reflected their shared values, connection to nature and appreciation for family. The result was a timeless and sustainable affair, leaving everyone eager to return to the idyllic setting.
