This Groom DJ’d at His Own Destination Wedding in Savannah
Mandy and David fell in love with Savannah during a weekend trip, and the city would come to inspire their one-of-a-kind wedding day. With a fully out-of-town guest list, the couple wanted to capture the city’s dark and haunting style, opting for a moody color palette of burgundy and black with gilded details throughout.
Long before their nuptials, Mandy and David met during a walkthrough at the wedding venue where Mandy worked. After crossing paths at local networking events enough times, they finally decided to give one another a chance. They went on a date, and the rest was history. Knowing Mandy didn’t want a public proposal, David popped the question over a bottle of bubbly on their couch — a perfect, private moment for a pair of self-proclaimed homebodies!
Savannah, nicknamed the “First City” is one of the oldest cities in the country and has a dark, moody, and haunting aura. With those thematic Thin mind, the couple created a wedding the reflected that ambiance. The couple noted that their ceremony venue, Harper Fowlkes House, looked like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, but more enriched in history.
Following the outdoor ceremony, their reception began at Perry Lane Hotel. Here, the vibes turned more art deco, all with awesome views of Savannah. Since David is a DJ and owns Krieger Entertainment, their wedding entertainment was a priority. A highlight of the reception included with a professionally choreographed 90’s dance by the newlyweds and a surprise DJ set by the groom himself (with his bride’s favorite jams, of course!). And surely enough, it was a party that didn’t quit — evident by Mandy’s slip-on Vans. Guests danced under disco balls until the very end, even with an extra hour added to the night.
