Elizabeth & Alex’s French Blue Garden Wedding
On an August afternoon, Elizabeth and Alex held a garden-inspired wedding in hues of French blue. Elizabeth and Alex loved the look of a garden wedding, but for an August wedding in Atlanta, they prioritized being indoors. Seeking the perfect indoor venue, the couple fell in love with the classic elegance of the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown. With the beautiful brass and rose marble décor, grand staircase and impeccable service, they knew the Four Seasons would be the perfect setting.
The Four Seasons ballroom was transformed into an indoor garden. In addition to the bride’s favorite flower, white anemones, Gold and Bloom incorporated coordinating shades of creme, French blue and baby pink. Greenery, brass compote vases and pastel candlesticks completed this garden vision.

A focal point of the décor, Elizabeth and Alex worked with Blue Harbor Paperie to design a custom wedding crest. They incorporated the crest into invitations, complete with a wax seal and French blue chiffon ribbon. They also commissioned an alternative version of the crest featuring watercolor paintings of their cats, Abby and Taylor. After all, the furry friends needed to be there in spirit for their parents’ big day! The formal crest was utilized on their wedding signs and programs, while the cat version was incorporated on custom corn hole boards.
The Style
Elizabeth wore a floral jacquard Anne Barge gown with a fitted cummerbund and full A-line skirt. The bride’s look was completed by a cathedral length veil by Amborella and her grandmother’s pearls. The bride’s bouquet included a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels broach from her paternal grandmother. On the inside of the bouquet handle, she pinned the fraternity and the sorority pins of her maternal grandparents. Additionally, she included own Gamma Phi Beta pin and Alex’s Pi Kappa Alpha pin. Like her grandparents, Alex and Elizabeth met through Greek life and they wanted to honor that on their big day.
Alex wore a custom tuxedo from Alton Lane, which he had embroidered inside with their initials and wedding date. As for his accessories, he wore custom cufflinks. These cufflinks were engraved with their wedding date, initials and a quote from their first dance song. A huge sneaker enthusiast, Alex changed into sparkling black Maison Margiela high tops for the reception, while Elizabeth changed into pearl Stuart Weitzman sneakers. The groomsmen changed into black patent Nike Jordans, a gift from the groom.
The Festivities
The bride and groom’s favorite moment of the day took place before the ceremony started. In a private moment, Elizabeth and Alex shared their first look and read each other handwritten vows. This intimate moment set the tone for the romantic day.
After a ceremony in front of pillars flowing the flowers, guests found their seating assignments via individual bud vase arrangements. Additionally, these bud vases also served as favors for the guests to take home. The crowd favorite at cocktail hour was the dumpling bar, an ode to Alex’s Chinese heritage. Elizabeth and Alex had also incorporated Alex’s culture the night before, wearing traditional Chinese wedding attire for their rehearsal dinner hosted at Canoe.
As cheese enthusiasts, Elizabeth and Alex exchanged a traditional wedding cake for one made of cheese wheels. Topped with their wedding florals, this unique cake was a stunner. This cheese wheel cake was served alongside delicious Georgetown Cupcakes, providing something for those with a sweet tooth.
They closed out the night by jumping on stage with the band to sing the final song of the night, Mr. Brightside. The perfect ending to the perfect day.
