Tracey and Jack first met at a Chicago Cubs game…and tied the knot the same year the Cubs won the World Series! The couple decided to wed in Atlanta and, with the help of Brianne Garritano of Marquette Avenue Events, began planning an elegant destination wedding at The Biltmore Ballrooms.
“It was simply breathtaking. In truth, my husband’s face is what sold me as he looked around the elegant Georgian Ballroom in awe. The rows of prominent columns, the handcrafted plaster relief ceilings, and green and gold detailing provide a perfect setting for a Southern wedding.”
Tracey wore a beautiful Martina Liana sheath with delicate lace and a hint of color that matched her bridesmaids’ Tuscan beige Jenny Yoo dresses perfectly. She carried a bouquet of romantic blooms in shades of white and cream as she walked down a petal-lined aisle. Jack, the love of her life, awaited her in a classic black tux and bow tie. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds strolled hand-in-hand back down the aisle, smiling at family and friends as they passed.
The reception décor matched the ornate venue perfectly. Gorgeous gold dinnerware sat atop beige linens. A garland of lush greenery sprawled across the head table, while small white floral arrangements and towering gold centerpieces filled with greenery accompanied the rest. Even with 155 guests, the scene set an intimate, cozy tone.
Guests were treated to delicious appetizers during cocktail hour and a three-course plated dinner by Bold American Catering. Dessert was a beautiful buttercream-frosted chocolate cake with salted caramel fudge filling from Frosted Pumpkin. The Retreat (Sam Hill Entertainment) provided entertainment for the evening.
“During cocktail hour, we had a live saxophone. During dinner, we tailored towards artists such as the Lumineers, James Bay, Van Morrison, Sinatra and Etta James, and after dinner we requested anything but slow songs. We wanted them to bring the energy! Our dance floor was filled with guests all night long and we even had people out there who don’t typically dance. I would absolutely book them again!”
The newlyweds celebrated the start of their forever with a two-week honeymoon in Thailand, beginning their journey in Bangkok and ending in Phuket. “The trip was incredible and we could not have imagined a better honeymoon. We have memories that will last us a lifetime.”
Advice to Couples
Splurge On….
We absolutely felt that Music, Food, and Cocktails were most important and this is where we opted to splurge! I wouldn’t second guess it.
Don’t Sweat…
…the hiccups. Each and every wedding will have bumps along the way, whether it’s during your planning phase or the day of. Let the professionals do their job – you’ve hired them for a reason! Keep smiling, remain calm, and remember that your wedding day is the day you and your partner, your love, say forever. Nothing is more important than that, I promise.
