Katie & Noah’s Elegant Savannah Wedding
Katie & Noah
October 28, 2017
Savannah, GA
Noah proposed to Katie after a romantic dinner on the anniversary of their first date and even arranged for the waiter to take photos of the special moment! The couple chose The Westin Savannah as their venue, which could accommodate their out-of-town guests and was located in a city they both loved. Planner Alysse Sweeney of Design Studio South directed the couple to a wonderful team of local vendors and helped make their vision a reality.
Katie and Noah wed in a traditional ceremony at Temple Mickve Israel under a chuppah with an asymmetric garland of greenery and pastel blooms. The groom and his groomsmen looked dashing in classic black tuxedos, while bridesmaids were perfectly mismatched in neutral shades. Katie wore a striking, fitted lace gown with a plunging neckline from Bridals by Lori. The couple exchanged vows and then made their way to The Westin.
Cocktail hour was held in the venue’s ballroom, which was transformed into a vintage-chic lounge with pastel rental furniture, plants and more. Dinner was served outside in a beautifully rustic setting of cream linens, delicate floral centerpieces and copper details. Guest were treated to delicious appetizers, like crab cakes and tuna sashimi in waffle cones, before moving on to main courses of New York strip steak and halibut. The newlyweds opted for a small two-tier cake with modern, minimalist details from Savannah Hall of Cakes, along with an assortment of sweet treats from Wicked Cakes. Guests also enjoyed made-to-order ice cream sandwiches from Leopold’s and danced the night away to a high energy set by The Shimmer Band!

“The ceremony felt very special with Katie’s rabbi from Atlanta. We wrote our own vows and it was very meaningful to hear each other’s words for the first time in that moment.” -Noah
“The hotel ballroom was transformed into a lounge complete with plants, sofas and hightop tables. The dining area outside was created from scratch. It was filled with both farm and round tables that were covered with flowers and vines. The name tags were located in flower beds and the bars had a similar rustic feel. The guests were able to enjoy an open air feel and move outside and inside as they pleased throughout the night.” -Katie
“Savannah is a special place for Katie: She has many fond memories of time spent on the water with her grandparents and continues to enjoy visiting multiple times a year. We chose the Westin so that we could accommodate all of our out of town guests while being on the water.” -Noah
