As self-proclaimed “not fancy people,” they wanted this to be the day they could step outside the norm and feel extraordinary. “It was so memorable, because not only did we get married, but we got to feel like the classiest versions of ourselves for a whole day,” Kathryn shared.

To create their classic look, the couple chose a palette of white, ivory, gold and black. Their goal was simple yet thoughtful: to look back in 50 years and know the style would still feel timeless. Naturally, such a celebration called for a venue that carried its own, and The Wimbish House was the perfect fit. Even without flowers or décor, the venue’s gold accents, mirrored ballroom and storied past provided an enchanting backdrop. For Kathryn and Jimmy, it was meaningful to marry somewhere that felt part of something larger than themselves.

For more than a century, The Atlanta Woman’s Club has used The Wimbish House, and that legacy is felt throughout the space. Portraits of every Atlanta Woman’s Club president since the organization’s founding line the hallway leading to the ballroom. Walking down that hall, Kathryn recalls feeling they were all cheering her on with a silent “You go, girl!”

With sophisticated ivory details at every turn, Kathryn and Jimmy’s wedding was a celebration of style and sentiment. And most of all, it was one that will never go out of fashion.
