Jocelyn & Sawyer’s Vibrant Garden Party at Bishop Station
In the heart of Atlanta, Jocelyn and Sawyer reimagined a classic garden fête in the courtyard of Bishop Station, blending elevated design with effortless charm and distinctive character.
After seven years together, Jocelyn and Sawyer began talking seriously about marriage — with two firm rules in place: they’d go ring shopping together, and once they did, Sawyer had six months to propose (Jocelyn couldn’t stand waiting!). So when he suggested shopping in early December 2023, Jocelyn was ecstatic, but she never imagined how quickly (or creatively) he’d follow through. Just weeks later, after a chaotic journey to Tokyo marked by missed flights and last-minute changes, Sawyer led her to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden on their first full day in the city, insisting they squeeze it in before closing time. As they crossed a bridge overlooking one of the park’s ponds, Sawyer paused and told Jocelyn how lucky he felt to be by her side, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. She said yes, completely unaware that he’d managed to pull off a custom ring in just three weeks, secretly flown to South Florida to ask her father for his blessing and hired a photographer to capture the moment.
That same sense of thoughtful intention carried seamlessly into their wedding day. At Bishop Station, French blue anchored the palette, complemented by a spectrum of vibrant summer hues. The couple’s vision drew from the romance of Jane Austen and the playful elegance of Bridgerton, marrying modern high-fashion details with an inviting, unpretentious spirit. Guests were encouraged to embrace the theme with attire in sorbet tones, infusing the celebration with even more color and energy. While rooted in the traditions of a classic wedding, every detail was curated with intention, reflecting a relationship defined by joy, warmth and personality.
Floral arrangements featuring soft peaches, warm oranges, rich pinks and blue delphiniums felt intentional yet unfussy, bringing depth and color to the day without overshadowing the venue’s relaxed atmosphere or rich 1920s history. Gold accents pulled the tablescapes together, softening the exposed brick and iron elements while balancing the venue’s industrial edge.
For the couple, they wanted a reception that was all about great food, great music, and an unforgettable party. With Sawyer’s background in a band and the couple’s shared love of live music and concerts, the night unfolded like a performance — full of infectious energy, nonstop dancing, and a truly legendary celebration. Their first dance, complete with spins, dips, lifts and impressive choreography by Mary Me Wedding Dances, earned a standing ovation from their guests. Later in the evening, Sawyer — an accomplished drummer himself — surprised guests by joining the wedding band for a live performance of his own.
From the couple’s beloved pup, Tommy, serving as their honorary ring bearer to custom cocktail napkins printed with a collection of handwritten love notes Sawyer had written to Jocelyn over the years, every detail reflected their vibrant relationship…a love story nine years in the making.
