Coastal Charm for Ashlyn & Ben at Ocean Forest Golf Club
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Sea Island, Ashlyn and Ben’s wedding was a heartfelt celebration filled with personal touches and coastal charm. Wanting a smooth and relaxed day, every detail was crisply planned and beautifully executed.
Ashlyn and Ben have known each other until they were kids, but really became friends in middle school. One day, Ben texted Ashlyn asking her to hang out to help him with math homework. And they haven’t stopped hanging out since! For their proposal, Ben surprised Ashlyn with a weekend getaway in Savannah over Christmas break for her birthday. Unbeknownst to Ashlyn, this trip was an elaborate plan to bring her to River Street and get on one knee.
Ashlyn and Ben describe Sea Island as their absolute favorite place, a natural choice for their wedding locale. For Ashlyn, Sea Island has even more a special place in her heart. With her grandmother living there, she spent her childhood vacations in the area and still often returns. The wedding day began at her grandmother’s stately island home, where she got ready surrounded by family. Then, the ceremony took place at Wesley Church at Frederica, the church she grew up attending, adding another sentimental layer to the couple’s vows.
Guests were treated to a sailcloth-tented reception on Sea Island’s oceanfront golf course, where southern elegance met coastal flair. The decor featured a stunning collection of chinoiserie ginger jars, luxurious blue and green patterned linens and lush floral arrangements of blue hydrangeas and white peonies.
After hours of dancing under the stars, the celebration culminated with a dazzling fireworks display over the ocean. With sparkling explosions in the sea breeze air, it was an unforgettable finale to a magical day.
