Madison & Brandon’s Classic Country Wedding
To mark a milestone in their relationship, Madison booked a couple’s photo session — loving the idea of looking back over the years to see how they had grown together. Brandon had a secret plan, though. Part way through the session, he spun her around and proposed. “I couldn’t say ‘yes’ fast enough,” Madison says.
Ready to tie the knot, Madison and Brandon planned their wedding in just under a year so they could exchange “I do’s” amid the vibrancy of the fall colors in an outdoor ceremony. The venue selection was easy, Madison says. Macon’s Place in Cataula, Georgia has a beautiful outdoor setting with space for a ceremony and reception.
On the day of their wedding, Brandon watched Madison approach the alter as her two uncles walked her down the aisle. Tragically, Madison’s dad passed away two weeks before the wedding. To commemorate him, a memory candle was lit so he could “shine down on us” during the service. For the reception, Madison’s uncle catered the meal with slow roasted pork, baked beans and potato salad. For the cakes, Madison opted for a vanilla round cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing and Brandon’s dessert was strawberry and traditional cheesecake.
A few unexpected last minute errands made Madison wish she’d hired a wedding planner. But in the end, the day was basically perfect.
“Don’t sweat the little stuff,” Madison advises to future brides. “The only thing that matters is you get to marry your best friend at the end of the day.”
