Brooklyn Vibes for Shira & Ben’s Jewish Wedding at Guardian Works
Texture, greenery and charisma defined Shira and Ben’s spring wedding at Guardian Works. With planning by Alexa Eve Events, they blended their Jewish heritage with Brooklyn-inspired cool, all set against the venue’s striking industrial backdrop.
After a laid-back morning getting ready with her wedding party, Shira slipped on a silk, bias-cut Cortana gown and met Ben at the venue for a private first look and vow exchange. Tucked into a quiet corner, they sat knee-to-knee reading the promises they had written for one another before joining loved ones for the ketubah signing and bedeken.
For the ceremony, the couple embraced Guardian Works’ raw character — exposed brick, soaring beams, floods of natural light — and softened it with cascading greenery that climbed the structure as if it had always belonged there. Though the former warehouse soared to 24-foot ceilings, beneath a greenery-laden and tallit-draped chuppah Shira and Ben existed in their own world. Echoing the living canopy overhead, vintage rugs in terra cotta and sun-faded hues lined the aisle, their worn fibers adding warmth and history underfoot.
The reception carried the theme forward with sage linens, tables glowing with candlelight and arrangements in shades of green punctuated by marigold, cream and sherbet. Party Express Entertainment kept energy crackling through the room, and a playful schtick — a tradition rooted in the mitzvah of entertaining the couple — set the tone for the night. The Hora brought the night to its peak with Shira and Ben hoisted into the air, breathless with laughter and surrounded by everyone they loved.
