Alana and Dominic’s Garden-Inspired Biltmore Ballrooms Wedding
Filled with lush florals and a soft, ethereal color palette of light pink, green and white, Alana and Dominic’s Biltmore Ballrooms wedding was like a scene straight out of Bridgerton.
Alana and Dominic first met at a pool party in the summer of 2016, beginning a friendship that would take years to blossom into romance. Their relationship deepened just as Alana entered medical school, and Dominic became her steady source of support through the demanding years of medical training and residency. Today, Alana works as a neurology resident physician while Dominic is in government real estate. When they’re not pursuing their careers, they enjoy traveling, discovering new restaurants and relaxing at home with their cat, Oliver.
The couple designed their ceremony to be the centerpiece of the wedding day. Working with florist and designer J. Madison, Alana and Dominic transformed the Georgian Ballroom into a dreamlike garden with three grand floral arches as a backdrop. Sentimental touches throughout gave the ceremony a family-forward focus. Alana’s father walked her down the aisle before her older brother, Jeffrey, stepped forward to officiate the ceremony. When it came time to exchange rings, both mothers presented the bands, further symbolizing the joining of their families.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour featured signature drinks inspired by their favorite Italian restaurant: a spicy margarita for Alana and a chocolate old-fashioned for Dominic. Guests mingled while solving a custom crossword puzzle filled with clues about the couple and their bridal party.
The newlyweds made their grand entrance into the reception to “Now That We Found Love” by Heavy D before sharing their first dance to “Sweet Love” by Anita Baker — the same song Alana’s parents had chosen for their own wedding. From there, the night was filled with more intentional music selections, each reflecting different eras of the couple’s lives and keeping the crowd energized.
