A Blue and White Wedding for MacKenzie and Alex at Little River Farms
Inspired by the bride’s favorite flower, blue hydrangeas, MacKenzie and Alex’s wedding was a vision of classic beauty. On a sunny July day at Little River Farms in Alpharetta, the couple hosted a summer garden party-styled wedding full of timeless touches.
Mackenzie and Alex met in August 2016 at the University of Mississippi when Alex’s roommate introduced them. Alex would say it was “love at first sight,” but Mackenzie wasn’t so sure. Despite their different reactions to their first encounter, they spent their first few weeks of college exploring their new town with a large group of friends. As often happens, their friend groups grew apart during their freshman year, and it wasn’t until their sophomore year that they reconnected. After months of friendship and hints of mutual affection, they finally had their first official date, and the rest is history.
Nestled in the heart of Alpharetta, GA, Little River Farms provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s classically Southern. Mackenzie grew up in nearby Roswell, making it especially meaningful for her to marry close to home. With Alex hailing from Florida, it was a special occasion to host his family and friends in Mackenzie’s hometown. The venue was transformed into a floral wonderland, adorned with an abundance of blue hydrangeas and delicate white blooms, creating a serene and sophisticated atmosphere. As a nod to Alex’s Florida upbringing and his family’s orange groves, the couple incorporated citrus elements into the Georgia setting, as well.
From the moment guests arrived, they were enveloped in the grace and tradition of the South. Monograms graced the details throughout the event, from the beautifully designed invitations to the bar signage featuring their dog, Birdie. The couple’s love for tradition was evident in every detail, from the charming vintage decor to the heartfelt toasts made in front of the stately, greenery-decked fireplace.
This wedding at Little River Farms was not just a celebration of MacKenzie and Alex’s love but a homage to the timeless traditions and beauty of the South. Now living in Florida, the couple will surely cherish this quintessential Georgia day for a lifetime.
