Here Comes the Met Gala

The First Monday In May has come and gone and we are still in awe of all the jaw-dropping looks that graced the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual gala. While we are still sifting who was perfectly on theme and who missed the mark, we did see a whole lot of wedding attire inspiration.

These looks could go down the aisle as-is and we’d love them just as much. Here are our top Met Gala not-bridal-but-sure-could-be looks.

Sydney Sweeney in Tory Burch

Corsetry, a voluminous train and a big reveal into a short cocktail dress? This one hit the spot!

Kylie Jenner in Off-White

While casual at the outset, Kylie Jenner’s Off-White ensemble honoring the late Virgil Abloh is a fun twist on bridal.

Tessa Thompson in Carolina Herrera

Pastels are the new white. Taking all the elements that make up a bridal look and giving them a lovely pink hue is a cute way to elevate your aisle style.

Miranda Kerr in Oscar de la Renta

What’s there to say? From head to toe, this look by Oscar de la Renta makes for a stunning and modern bride.

Lucy Boynton in Chanel

Frosty, iridescent and classic all in one look. This Chanel gown’s textiles and silhouette say bridal, but the pinafore top and short sleeves give it a girly and sweet feel.

Eva Chen in Peter Do

We can’t get enough of mixing masculine and feminine elements, and this look by Peter Do knocks it out of the park. A satin tuxedo jacket atop a cascading train combines all our favorite elements from both the bride and groom’s traditional choices.

Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent

Saint Laurent knows how to so a slinky, sexy number – and this was no exception. This look is perfect for the spouse who wants to infuse some sex-appeal while maintaining traditional elements.

Paloma Elsesser in Coach

Corsets are everywhere in bridal this season. When the undergarments are this pretty, might as well make them outer garments.

Claire Danes in Lanvin

Lanvin took inspiration from slips of yore and transformed the look into a formal gown fit for the alter. Decadent lace and a birdcage veil…who can say no?

Alexa Chung in Christian Siriano

Like a beautiful Greek Statue, Alexa Chung stunned in this impeccably draped number from Christian Siriano. With a Bardot neckline and a dramatic leg slit, this piece has us saying, “I do, I do, I do!”

Lauren Santo Domingo in Alaïa

A high neck and layers and layers of ruffles make this a winner in our book. The co-founder of Moda Operandi exuded sophistication and solidified that the halter neck isn’t going anywhere.

Caroline Trentini in Danielle Frankel

Brown might not be your first thought when you dream of bridal looks, but Caroline Trentini’s Danielle Frankel gown is making a believer out of us.

Fabiola Beracasa Beckman in Giambattista Valli

Socialite and producer Fabiola Beracasa Beckman looked like a blushing bride in archival Giambattista Valli, complete with opera gloves. Is the mermaid silhouette returning to the scene? If it looks as glamourous as this, count us in.

Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton

Lace is getting a reinvention this season of weddings. Layers of varying lace textiles created an unforgettable ensemble that Cynthia Erivo simply shone in.

Daisy Edgar-Jones in Oscar de la Renta

Can’t you picture this in an intimate civil ceremony with a speakeasy after-party? Swoon!

Emma Stone in  Louis Vuitton

Of course, we had to include Emma Stone’s feathery mini dress in this roundup…she wore it on her actual wedding day! Repurposing her darling reception dress for the red carpet is a sustainable and unexpected move that we love.
