Real CHICago Wedding: Jorie & Michael Hooked on You

Jorie and Michael’s Emerson Creek wedding implemented all of Jorie and Michael’s favorite things — family, flowers, and fishing.  Two peas in a pod, after sharing four years of laughs, Michael proposed on Jorie’s grandfather’s boat. Every detail came together on their wedding day, including Jorie’s special touch of incorporating Michael’s love of fishing.

Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom‘s restored barn, large tent, and brick patio gave the wedding an outdoor feeling and also paired well with the couple’s personalities. Peach, sage, and many variations of orange were used throughout the venue in gorgeous lush floral provided by Andrew’s Garden.

Flowered mason jars hung at the end of the aisle as two large floral grapevine wreaths hung as a ceremony backdrop. Over the head table, cascading flowers and greenery laid upon two vintage ladders. A vintage fishing lure was also used in Michael’s boutonniere.

Jorie says, “The day was perfect. We were relaxed and had a great time. Our favorite part was seeing how every detail came together.”

~ A memorable favor ~

Guests received a pint glass with the couple’s wedding monogram as something for guests to use again and again. After the first dance, family and friends sat outside around a fire and roasted s’mores.~ Polaroids for place cards ~

Guests found their name on a place card, snapped a Polaroid of themselves and hooked the photo on clothesline in it’s place, making a great memory book for the couple to take home. ~ Advice for couples planning their wedding ~

“Relax! Do what feels right to you and enjoy every minute. Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
